I was born in California to immigrant parents from Chile, and grew up speaking Spanish at home. I also spent part of my childhood in Europe. This multicultural experience brought much richness to my life, and also created a yearning to find rootedness and a stronger sense of my own identity. I was inspired to become a therapist after experiencing first hand the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. I became aware of how psychotherapy can help untangle our hurts and also help us grow more fully into ourselves. I began as a peer counselor, where I witnessed the restorative effects of being fully present to another's story. I went on to earn my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, with an emphasis in Somatics. I also hold an Art degree with a minor in Anthropology. I am inspired by creativity, movement, instinct, and the roots and lineage that shape all of us.

Additionally, as a mother of two, I have experienced firsthand the joys and challenges that come with pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. These powerful life experiences are transformational and often bring a need for support and holding. Parenting our children can often trigger our own past difficulties. I can support your parenting journey through coaching you in positive, gentle and respectful parenting techniques.

My therapeutic approach is guided by an attachment orientation, which looks at our earliest bonds and how they shape and impact our close relationships. Other philosophies and modalities that influence my work are mindfulness, Authentic Movement, shamanic practices, and eco-therapy. I have also been trained in non-judgmental after abortion support with Exhale, a wonderful local organization.

At heart, I will always use a warm, respectful, and client centered approach, cultivating a sense of safety as the foundation of our work.
